@ There is mess of Experts in industrial water treatment.There is not any development in technology.90 % effluent treatment plants are designed as an extension of sewage treatment plants.Process Part is ignored STP/ETP are process driven plants and not as equipment based plants as in water treatment but use of pressure sand filters instead of properly designed clarifiers lead to under performing of ETP.

A centralized ETP/WTP is required to be set up for an industrial cluster (consisting of a number of factories/industrial set ups) which will treat effluents coming from all the industrial set ups /faactories within that cluster. Govt. or Pollution control board shall run that centralized ETP/WTP and concerned industries within that cluster will pay the fees for this service to govt. or pollution control board . Fees will be determined based on the volume of effluent discharged by each factory/industrial set up. Thus an industrial ecosystem will be formed.

Industry has invested a lot of money on the installment of Effluent treatment plant as per the effluent load and to run and to achieve discharge norm Pollution Board authority must be made responsible for operation of plants and start earning money from industry on inflow basis.

Unless Law Enforcement is strict and periodic monitoring is ensured independent of the service provider, nothing can improve !Govt.s must move out of operations of STPs and WTPs and leave it to NGOs to supervise O&M by Pvt Sector , all chosen in competitive market scenario.
