Bavaria Could ​Help India With ​its Danube ​Experience

Uma Bharti suggested a  formation of a joint group between India and Bavaria (a state in Germany) to identify areas of co-operation in water sector.

Minister of the environment and consumer protection of the Free State of Bavaria, Ulrike Scharf, called on Bharati on New Delhi, an official statement said.

Both the leaders discussed various areas of co-operation in water resources sector.

Bharti said Bavaria has a rich experience of successfully cleaning the Danube river and India may benefit from that.

She gave an overview of the Namami Gange programme to the visiting dignitary.

The Bavarian minister appreciated the work of the Union ministry of water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvenation and said Bavaria and India would like to exchange their experience and knowledge in water resources sector, the statement added.

Rule of law, extent of corruption , quality of Governance, hands on technical expertise and conservation of ecology besides drive to restore the damages caused by WWs had made Germany restore Danube River from highly polluted state to its present healthy state in less than a decade. Is it possible here where Engineers do not use their hands and Govt. Servants are either laidback or have stiff necks...When would rule of law make polluters stop getting lured by their short term gains....
