Looks as if India is bent on reinventing the wheel? In the 1990s, I worked in Madras (now Chennai) on the collection and treatment system for that city which was in a dreadful state. My local colleague got his PhD on the subject of sewage treatment and all concluded that activated sludge was the best solution for that climate.
