Enrolling Hindus in the battle to save the sacred river.

The Ganga River is sacred to Hindus and there are many millions of Hindus in the catchment of the River. The opportunity exists bring together Hindu religious leaders and the river health specialists to develop a plan where by the religious leaders encourage their adherents to take positive action for the river. Religious faith lies underneath beliefs such as capitalism and consumerism and is therefore a powerful tool that ought to be bought to bear on this problem.

One such initiative might be to work with religious leaders and fisheries experts and Ganga River fishers to find way to avoid accidental bycatch of the River Dolphins.
