  1. A very welcome move to atleast make Ganga bank towns and cities with 100% Collection and treatment of Sewerage by augmenting the existing systems and STP' capacity. MoWR &NG should stipulate location of new STPs atleast 5 km crow distance away from the banks. Private Players should also be encouraged to provide for suitable capacity bioreactors so that methane generated is utilised for public good and capital costs of collection and treatment of sewerage from peripheral/ localised communities is reduced. Also, why not include ALL TOWNS along the Ganga River System? Yamuna, Alakhnanda and other rivers that merge with Ganges also deserve equal attention of Hon'able Uma Bharti ji, , Minister of MoWR &NG. Forming District level commities can be tried but having overall single point authority over actions along River Systems must be attempted.

    1. I agree with the remark of Mr.Lokesh Punj suggesting to include all towns along the Ganga River system ,Yamuna,Alaknanda and other rivers that merges with Ganga.Until and unless we have 100% collection and sewerage treatment plants ,we can not achieve our target .We will have to divert all the untreated pollutants away from our river system at least 5km crow distance  away  from the existing river. If we stop this then in natural course of time Ganga water will be safe to drink and to utilise the same .
