Eli Cohen , CEO of AYALA Water & Ecology , is a Sustainability Expert with over 26 years of experience
in designing and implementing natural ecological solutions.


Mr. Cohen, a Thermo-Dynamics expert (M.Sc. material engineering at the Technion), chose to become
a professional farmer after heading the R&D department at a leading Hi-Tech company for several
years. Combining his scientific background, farming experience and continuous intuitional learning,
Cohen developed the Natural Biological System (NBS™) technology for energy-free wastewater
treatment and sustainable approach to environmental issues.


Cohen developed his organic farm into an R&D and export centre that, along with being the largest of
its kind in Israel, has identified and propagated aquatic plants with unique mutations for pollutant
removal. Mr. Cohen has published several original research articles on constructed wetlands for
sewage treatment. He served as the Israeli phytoremediation expert delegate to the European COST
859 committee, is member of the International Phytotechnology Society, professional expert in NATO’s
environmental specialist team for phytotechnologies application and been the keynote speaker at the
highest-level environmental conferences around the world, most recently at the National Green Tribunal
(Supreme Court) in India.

Mr. Cohen is advisor to the Mission to Clean Ganga, and has worked for
governments and industries around the world requiring immediate solutions to sewage treatment,
watershed rehabilitation, environmental buffering and more. With his unique and practical approach,
Mr. Cohen offers natural solutions to some of the most intractable pollution issues, such as landfill
leachate, acid mine drainage, industrial sewage, gas stations and more.
