A committed professional working in the field of environment conservation for the past two decades. Am a member of the prestigious Indian Forest Service (IFS) , a premier service of the Government of India for managing the forests, wildlife and other natural resources of the country. Held key positions in different capacities in India within the Government, both State Government and the Central Government, inclusive of three years in a World Bank funded Forestry Project for the state of Uttar Pradesh; WWF-India, an International Non Profit Organization working in the field of Conservation, a multi-national company and a research and academic institution. Have a good exposure to environmental issues globally and particularly in the third world countries. Have recently been conferred the Royal Bank of Scotland “ Earth Heroes Award, 2014” in the “green warrior” category for outstanding work in conservation of wild species. Have undertaken a certificate course “ Environment Management & Sustainable Development ” from the University of Wales, United Kingdom. Have experience of working in a World Bank funded Forestry Project in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. Have a good exposure to climate change issues globally and particularly in the European Union. Have worked in the field of climate change at policy level during posting in the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India on secondment. Also have experience of working at the grass root level with local and tribal communities. Have travelled extensively, within India as well as abroad, to get a fair exposure to various issues related to environment. Have led diverse, multicultural teams and have been able to deliver very effectively. Have good oratory, presentation and report writing skills and sound knowledge of computers.
