About

Mr. Altimas is a civil engineer, water and energy specialist, economist, finance and accounting specialist with over 42 years of consulting experience in the electricity, water resources and energy sectors. He was an energy, water and management specialist with SNC Lavalin for 25 years. He has a B. Sc. Civil Engineering from Queen’s, an MBA from McGill and a post Graduate Diploma in Hydraulic Eng. from UNESCO-IHE, Delft in the Netherlands.  He has extensive experience in project finance, project economics and tariff studies for electric utilities. Many of these projects carried a capacity development and training component for the host country counterparts.

Mr. Altimas has extensive oversees experience in more than 40 countries. He has lived and worked in Canada, Netherlands, Nepal, India, Indonesia, Zambia, Madagascar, Honduras, and Bolivia as an engineer, economist and finance specialist for various energy, water and power projects. In addition he has worked and participated in in 40 countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia to provide input and consulting expertise on water and energy projects including hydro, wind, thermal projects, transmission projects and electric companies.  He was recently involved as economist in the SNC Lavalin Electricity, Water and Fuel Study for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The objectives of the study is to project the electricity, water and fuel demands for these sectors for the KSA for the next 25 years and to develop the optimum and least cost method of meeting the electricity and water requirements for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the next 25 years.
