Yiorgos Hadjichristou, architect- professor at University Professor

About

I am a practicing architect and professor at the University of Nicosia. My work oscillates from small furniture to urban planning, from experimental installations to constructions of big blocks of buildings and landscapes, from theoretical treatises to innovative ways of teaching. I have passion with water, engaging it into the research and projects, even though I do not call myself professional in this area. However it is an area that needs to be investigated from a creative point of view and fresh glance into the related problems with the water that derive and relate to a big extend to the built environment. I believe in the interdisciplinary approach of the problems raised in each occasion and I would really be glad to be part of such a group project. I have been already a few times to India, and of course visited and experienced the significance of the Ganga River, especially after a research trip to the origins of the river into the Himalayas with a Japanese team for a documentary on Ganga River back in 1992.
