This has been tried for the Narmada Main canal. The cost of structure and the maintenance of various components may have implications for the overall economy. I think it hs been supported by ADB and they are also doing it in collaboration with PDPU Ahmedabad. Have not heard much about its cost benefit analyses.

Glad hearing that, and please kindly provide any reference thereon; URL, reports, etc. The outcome of the annexed activities will be compensating a lot, I suppose.
